Kinect Sports

So, I got Kinect sports and Kinect adventures with my kinect. Both work very well with the sensor and have little, if any, calibration issues. Personally, I prefer Kinect Sports. Kinect Adventures seems more of a kid game, although I believe it would be funner with a larger playing space. Basically the whole game is mini games. Kinect Sports has the sports of course, but the mini games and party play are really fun. Party play is basically mini games for a sport . It rotates every round and the winner gets 100 points while the loser gets 50. You can have up to 8 players (taking turns of course.) I am having a lot of fun with the ping pong. I'll rate the sports based on how fun they were, 1 being best:

1. Volleyball - Now I didn't know about how much I would like this one, but it is really fun. You jump and smash the ball, bump and block.

2. Ping Pong - Well this may be a little biased because I love to play ping pong, but I thought it was a really good game for the kinect. To put it simply, it just worked.

3. Track and Field -  Now this one gave me a sweat. Running in place, jumping, throwing, a lot is packed into this sport. It was fun, but I don't think less active people would like it, but hey maybe they can get in shape now.

4. Boxing - Boxing was fun on the easy difficulty, then when I would go to the harder difficulty, it got annoying. You are supposed to block to get stronger hits (doesn't make sense) and the blocking did not work good at all. Still pretty fun though.

5. Soccer - Now, I had doubts about this one at first, but it turned out alright. Not the best, but still a fun game.

6. Bowling - A LOT like wii bowling, but with bettter spin control. Nothing too new. Got boring by myself, but was fun with others. I liked that you could overhand throw the ball (on some occasions) and if you let go too high it would crack the floor. It made it seem more realistic. Also, the first time I played, I threw it into the crowd on accident.

I think I will do a review on Kinect Adventures, when I beat the game.

Xbox, Kinect

The new xbox 360 slim is smaller and quieter, nothing else is really different from the older versions. The kinect is what makes the deal. For those that are weary about buying one, go get one. You will not be disappointed. I could compare it to the wii, but it doesn't even come close. Microsoft hit the ball out of the park with this one. It read your body almost flawlessly. Although there are some quirks, like in 2 player, I think they would be fixed by a larger play area. All in all, great product.

Phone

I fixed it. Looks and works brand new.

2nd Droid Eris

Well, I received the digitizer late from the people I bought it from. So, I just today put the phone back together. Low and behold the digitizer does not work correctly at all. It is like the calibration is way out of wack and I had already glued it into the phone. There goes a hundred and ten dollars. Wonderful way to start the holidays.

Ads Again

The only company that has even paid me yet is mountain view clicks. Also, my blog is still doing that pop up virus crap, so I think I am going to take off all the clicksor ads and see what happens.

Trying to sort out this junk

So, for some reason my blog has been doing the most annoying things ever >:l. It opens pages and stuff that take like 5 minutes for them to stop opening. Hopefully, the changes I made will fix this. Please comment telling me if it did or did not.

Updates

Beat Black Ops Campaign in about 5 - 6 hours.
I would give the single player about an 8 out of 10 overall, but some missions are definitely 10 out of 10.
I'd give the multiplayer about a 9.3 out of 10. It is extremely fun, but there are a lack of sniping maps or anywhere where you can use a sniper rifle.

I have been watching The Walking Dead, a new series on AMC. It is amazing. One of the best, if not the best, TV series I have ever watched. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. As of the time of this posting, there is the first episode on HULU. The first episode was good, but they just keep getting better. There are currently 4 episodes out.
The show is basically a zombie movie turned into a series. It is kind of hard to explain, but it is a really, really amazing show.

Ok, onto the more techy stuff. I am private beta testing a new browser called RockMelt. It is amazing, simply amazing. In my testing, it is faster than Google Chrome, but it has facebook integration and has cool RSS feed integration. Try it out for yourself. Sign up for the beta test and hopefully someone on your facebook friends list has RockMelt because it is invite only.

Security Survey CONT

It shows up every single time for me and I do not want. I don't know why the heck it would randomly add a survey. Also got my $1.26 from MountainViewClicks the other day. Also, got the phone yesterday. I'll take before and after pictures. Hopefully, I'll get the digitizer today and the other phone I ordered.

See post below.
Make that two. haha

Phones

Just bought a droid eris with a broken digitizer. Going to fix it and sell it.

College Laptops

I am trying to install Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 on a computer that has limited administrator rights. (for a cousin) I have Fallout New Vegas running perfectly on my home computer, but no matter what I do it just doesn't work on his laptop. I think it has something to do with the registry not being editable, but I bypassed that. The application then fails to start. Whatever, I am going to try to run it off a flash drive. Also, installing Fallout 3 as we speak.

Ad Review!

Ok here is the final ad review. Take all of this with a grain of salt.

Etology:
First thing I did not like right off the bat. They had adult ads that automatically showed up and there was no way to block them. I am sure you were/are aware of this. Second, they only pay about 1 cent per click. Horrible, horrible, horrible amount of money. One good thing is that they can pay through paypal.

Mountain View Clicks:
Well, one of my followers stated that they release private information about their users. I have not confirmed this, but just a warning. I have gotten around 1 cent per click, but I also get money from referrals clicks, which is a plus. They also do paypal.

Adbrite:
This was my second favorite. It has a low income though and less customizability. Even with this low income I had around 3 cents per click which is 2 cents better than the previous. This ad program does not, I repeat, DOES NOT have referral program and DOES NOT pay with paypal. Two big drawbacks.

On to my favorite:
Clicksor:
I really haven't found anything bad with this publisher. They have extremely customizable ads and all different sorts. They also have neat tools for users. They DO have paypal payment and DO have a referral system. They have paid about $0.03 to $0.06 per click. Link to sign up below.

I am leaving the adbrite ad up on the side until it gains about 30 more cents so I can get paid.

TL;DR if you don't have adsense use clicksor,

I miss adsense, but a ban is a ban is a ban :(

Web Design, Ads update, money

So, I heard that this voucher bounty thing is legit. They accidentally gave me points and supposedly 10 points is worth a dollar. You can sign up here.
Also, I wrote about this before, but it seems they have a lot that has come out. They have a shop already and they are already on their way to getting accepted as a money making processor. It's free, so you should probably sign up before they discontinue the Early Bird promotions. You can sign up here.

So, I am almost finished coding a website for a US history class that one of my friends who is the teacher asked me to do. When I am done I will host it and let you guys see it.

Ads.
I will be making the long post about ads very, very soon.

Updates

I have two routers and three modems. So yeah. Also I think I might buy the new Xbox. There only like 200 bucks, but first I want to test the WiFi part out because my friends have some. It also could just be Frontier being a pain.

Xbox issues

The stupid modem didn't help, so either it is the xbox's problem itself, which would mean I need to buy a wireless adapter, or its Frontier blocking the DNS server.

Money Makin' Continued

Ok, I know I talked about a survey site in a recent post named Money Making Schemes, but I want to post about it again because I am very pleased with it. To sign up go here. When you first sign up, you should do sample surveys called portrait surveys. They will better help get surveys in the future. Whenever you receive a new survey, you will be sent an email notifying you. Go into the email and click to take the survey. You can get anywhere from 2 - 15 dollars (from what I have seen.) You first have to take some sample questions to see if you qualify for the survey. I just recently took one and got 2 bucks. Haha, chump change, but the survey took me a minute. Here is the link again:

AdBrite

I have been using AdBrite for about a month and have only obtained about 8.50.
After about a week I will try to post results from the others I am using.
There is one that I already like the best for its customizability.

USPS

So, this post is titled USPS because I went to the post office and did some business today.
1st: I got MMA gloves that I had ordered, but I had ordered two pair and only received one pair. :(
2nd: I shipped the phone out to whomever won it.

Ads

Gonna be trying out some new ad forms, so bear with me, I will tell you guys which ones are the best AdSense alternatives. Each ad on here is from a different source and I am going to be seeing which one gets the most amount of money. That is, hopefully everyone clicks them evenly. Haha.

Bending Light

I realize that this is old, but I just wanted to share it. The ability to bend light around an object making it appear invisible or blurred could already be here.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/08/080812-invisibility-cloak.html

Comment what you think about it.

I buy broken iPhones

I will buy your broken iPhones if you are selling them for reasonable prices. Just leave comments with the information. Or I can attempt to fix them for you also. I can fix almost all problems except I haven't had much experience in fixing water damaged phones.

Minecraft

I do coding for iCraft. I am in the development team for it and I have my own server which is run 24/7. If anyone is interested the website is www.sk8rjwd.tk. Yes, it was made in Wix. I was lazy. I will be posting some of my actual coding soon.

On a side not. I made a crappy hacky sack today/last night and surprisingly it is really good. Filled the end of a sock with rice. Cut it. Super glued it. Added an extra piece of material. And voila, you have a free hacky sack.

Windows 7 to MAC

Was messing around with my Windows 7 laptop today trying to get it to look as close as I could to Mac OSX or Snow leopard without any major system or DLL changes.

Here is what I got:

Friday, October 1, 2010

Oh

By the way. If anyone has any broken phones, you can comment in this section and maybe I will see what I can do to fix them for you. I will charge bare minimum (cost of parts plus shipping back plus ~5 bucks) which would leave the total around $20 normally.

Thanks

Thanks for the follows and thanks for the comments.

Going to post about my day.

The broken Blackberry that I ordered off ebay shipped today along with the parts. I will update everyone on how that is going with pictures and selling link if I end up selling it. Still working with my ISP on trying to get my xbox to work with their DNS servers. Well, basically they are really ignorant and I have no other choice, but to use them as my internet service provider based on where I live, so today has left me rather aggravated. Although I did have a nice chat with some guy at microsoft(Xbox), we didn't get too much accomplished besides getting a little further. We did have some good laughs about how crappy Frontier ISP is and how little they know about their own product.

Well anyways, if anyone has any idea on how to fix my xbox connection problems please post in the comments.

TL;DR My xbox doesn't connect because it can't connect to DNS servers. Randomly stopped working. Westell Modem Model 7500, ISP: Frontier

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

First post !!!!!

Well this will be my first post on this blog. I am just going to start off by saying what I am going to be doing, well test driving.

So, the other day I was looking at phones on ebay and I noticed the price of "broken"phones was extremely cheap. Most of the time the "broken"phones were extremely easy and cheap to "fix."Most of the time the phone had a broken digitizer or LCD screen which is extremely easy to replace. So, I realized I could get a working phone for about 95% cheaper than the retail price. In doing this I could sell the phone for cheaper than face value and make a good profit.

Well, that is what I am currently doing.
